I started off in the corporate world as a Business Analyst, with a BA in Business from UT Austin. After a few years I found myself realizing working behind a desk was just not for me. There was a creative side of me that felt stifled. I owned and managed a restaurant for five years thereafter, but found that required a huge sacrifice in my quality of life. After a couple of career changes, I have found my balance and my passion.
I love making people feel beautiful, in turn good about themselves. I feel like I am paid to play Ken and Barbie all day long, and there is an immediate sense of gratification with every client that I transform. Every year I invest in my education to learn new techniques and business improvements.
What more can I say. I absolutely love, love, love my work.
COVID-19
COVID-19 will be amongst us for a little while. In the meantime we all need to do our best to stay healthy and well. I will do my best to provide a safe and clean service, and I will expect you to be respectful of my efforts and do your best to be safe and clean in return. If your health is in question please let me know as soon as you can, so that we can reschedule your appointment.
Clients' Responsibilities
Services will be done by appointment only. Please do not walk-in and ask for availability or wait in the salon.
Please text me to inform me of your arrival and remain in your car or outside the establishment 6 ft apart from other people. Please arrive alone to your appointment. We are trying to limit the number of bodies in the salon to ensure social distancing.
I will ask you to answer the "Screening Questions" (see that section below) to ensure that you have not been compromised.
Please do not bring a lot of personal belongings or food. You may bring a beverage, if you so desire to sneak a sip then and again. You will be required to bring and wear a mask that loops around your ears for the most part of your appointment (H-E-B has these disposable blue masks). And for your protection, I will do the same.
Upon greeting you I will perform a non-touch temperature check to ensure you are 99 degrees or less. Then I will escort you back to my room. I will then ask you to wash your hands or take some hand sanitizer.
I will open the doors for you. Please refrain from touching anything in the salon.
We will need to minimize talking at the shampoo bowls to reduce unnecessary risk.
If you need products, please tell the front desk or me. We want to minimize product handling.
With that all said, I do miss and love my clients. I wish I could hug those that welcome hugs, but for the time being an awkward head nod will have to suffice.
Extra Precautions in Place
Extra time will be taken to clean and disinfect in between clients using EPA List N registered disinfectants for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. My private room will have minimal exposure to the public. Clients will be provided with clean laundered smocks and towels. Implements will be cleaned and then sanitized in a UVC light compartment before each use.
Additionally I will be using a high-power UVC light and Ozone sanitation machine daily to treat the air and all surfaces in the room every evening. UVC can achieve up to 99.9% sterilization without leaving any residue or chemicals. And with Ozone all the germs in every nook and cranny will be sterilized. Test have shown that Ozone is 3,200 times more effective than chlorine at killing bacteria in water!
I also have in use an Oransi Erik 650A Air Purifier which uses a MERV18 HEPA (99.99%+). This ultimate air cleaning machine is effective for all airborne particulates, gases, odors, smoke, and VOC's.

Wearing extensions are relatively low maintenance. However, I find that the most difficult removals are due to not brushing properly, sleeping with wet hair, not separating the hair, and not sleeping in a low ponytail.

Color / Hi-lights / Low-lights
When it comes to coloring hair, I believe it is usually best to keep within the natural color range(s) of a client's hair.
What that means is that we add other colors to create dimension, but we only add colors a few shades lighter and darker than your nature hair color.
There is a benefit to this, your color visits are less frequent.
However, if you do need extreme color change, I can help you create that look as well.
Whether you desire the blondest of blonde, red, a chocolate brunette, or hi-lights/low-lights and/or hi-dimension, I can create a great new color look for you.

Color Correction
If you've had a bad experience with color, do not try to fix your color at hoe. Most often this makes the situation worse and could result in your hair being damaged from harsh over the counter products.
Work with a color expert to get you back to your desired color. Color experts take many variables into consideration when correcting color. An expert will be a ble to tell how porous your hair is and determine how many visits it will take to restore the hair. An example of overly porous hair is when you want to darken previously lightened hair and you end up with much darker hair that you had intended (or green hair!). More often than not, we see people who have purchased over the counter color (where they thought they matched it to their natural color) and the end result usually is uneven color with dark brown to black ends where the color grabs most.
Over the counter colors have dramatically different ingredients than professional lines. For instance, a typical market/drugstore brand of hair color has anywhere from 25 to 30% ammonia in the product. The ammonia is what opens the hair cuticle to allow for the color to be deposited.
I use professional lines like Redken, and Loreal, that use only 2% ammonia. When the cuticle is forced open to such a degree, when using a store bought brand, the hair cuticle does not completely close. This means the color cannot stay attached to the hair as the opened hair cuticle releases color at every washing.
Another unwanted affect of using products with high ammonia is the hair loses its luster and smoothness. Because the professional colors we use only have 2% ammonia, the cuticle is opened just enough to deposit the color. The cuticle is then able to close, and the color stays intact. And the best results are the incredible shine the hair has after using a professional color line.
Another "do not attempt" at home is color removers (if you've dyed your hair with a color that is too dark). These products contain very strong chemicals and/or bleach and can cause further damage if not done by a professional.
An expert colorist can examine the hair and determine the appropriate steps to take to get the hair either to another desired color, or close to its natural color. You can never get your "original" color back, but a good colorist can get really close. It's best to brig in unfiltered photos of your natural color if you desire to return to that shade.
Sometimes, it may require 3 or more visits to the salon to restore your hair. If you've bleached or lightened your hair, the pigment has been removed from the hair. Depositing color back onto the hair mahy require more thatn one steop to ensure that the condition of the hair is not further damaged. After a consultation, a recommended path tot restore hyour hair is provided. I also offer thermal coditioning treatments, and hole care products to help get your hair back gto a helathy state.
